Davidson College Arboretum (100 acres) is an arboretum located across the main campus of Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. It is open to the public daily without charge.
The arboretum's origins stretch as far back as 1869 when a Report of the Faculty to the trustees recommended making the campus "represent in time the forest growth of the State, and if possible, the general botany of the region". The campus became a formal arboretum in 1982.
Today the arboretum contains a collection of woody plants that thrive in North Carolina's Piedmont region. More than 3,000 trees and shrubs are labeled and in the arboretum database.
